Ted has been a mechanic since the age of 14 and has worked in many shops in Waterbury. In 1985 he decided it was time for him to open his own buisness, Kar Kare. Kar Kare was located on Lincoln Street in Waterbury for 13 years.
In 1998 he decided it was time to expand. He went from his one bay buisness on Lincoln Street to a brand new 3 bay building on Route 2 in Waterbury.
Here he employees two mechanics besides himself and his daughter, Camie, who is the office manager.
Some customers come into the shop and talk about how they remember when Camie was very very little because she would be at Ted's old shop and they were a customer then!
Ted has always prided himself in his business. He wants to make sure all his customers are happy and feel very comfortable just "stopping in" if they feel they have an emergency.
One very important task each mechanic has that works here is to make sure they check each vehicle over. Just because the vehicle comes in for an oil change doesnt mean you only get an oil change. Ted makes sure that if you have something else going on with your car that could be unsafe he finds it so you are not put in a bad position.
